Calico Rock Museum contest entries
You only have until Sept. 7 to submit your entry to the Calico Rock Museum’s Tomlinson Art and Science Center first photography contest.
Photos must “look as if you snapped it back in the good ole days of Calico Rock.” Consider taking photos of Calico Rock’s Historic Main Street, Historic East Calico, Rand or King Parks, houses especially those on the bluffs, other buildings and churches, Roselawn Cemetery or the River View Hotel. Scenes outside of town can be farmhouses and barns, the White River, local springs and creeks, even caves. Of course, there are other possibilities.
Photos may be exterior or interior shots of buildings, houses or other structures. Or they can be landscapes. No animals or people should be in your photo. To create that “old fashioned look”, your photo must be printed in black and white or sepia. Judging will be based on technique, composition, presentation, color balance, center of interest and lighting.
There is no entry fee. The junior category is through age 18. The adult category is for age 19 and older. All qualifying entries will be displayed in the Museum Art Gallery with prize ribbons on the winning entries.
You may pick up a rules brochure and an application at the Calico Rock Heritage Museum, 104 Main Street, Calico Rock.
