Hot Springs man facing multiple charges of rape
Justin Marshall Buckley, of Hot Springs, is facing multiple counts of rape following a series of incidents which took place in July of 2014.
According to a release from the Cherokee Village Police Department, the department received a report in May of this year from a family member of the victim who reported she had just learned of an attack on the victim.
In 2014, the victim was less than 14 years in age. More recently, the victim shared details of the rape and provided officers with a lengthy, detailed and typed statement. The statement indicated the rapes had occurred for several months and at the time, Buckley was 21-years- of age.
When the crime was reported, Buckley was listed as living in Hot Springs but was unable to be located by officers.
On Sept. 20, of this year, an investigator for the Cherokee Village Police Department located Buckley in Little Rock. He was contacted and questioned regarding the rape.
During the questioning, Buckley admitted to “seven or eight” occasions of sexual intercourse with the victims. All of which he admitted took place while the victim was still in her early teens.
Buckley was placed under arrest and transported to the Sharp County Jail where he was booked on seven charges of rape of a minor child under the age of 14 and an additional seven charges of rape.
Bond was set at $35,000 and he has since bonded out.
