WRAAA teams up with local businesses for Silver Angel Baskets

White River Area Agency on Aging is sponsoring Silver Angel Christmas Baskets for senior citizens in the counties of Fulton, Izard and Sharp. Various businesses and/or individuals have joined WRAAA in each county to assist in sponsoring the program. The holidays can be a lonely time for many seniors. Join in the efforts to provide them with the magic of Christmas.

Bank of Salem has partnered with WRAAA to sponsor the program in Fulton County. Donations may be left at the Bank of Salem or WRAAA in Salem.

First National Banking Company and Burger Center are additional sponsors in Izard County. Items may be dropped off at the FNBC lobby, Burger Center or WRAAA in Melbourne.

Sponsors in Sharp County include Sharp County Extension Agent Chelsea Conway and Mike Watson State Farm Insurance. Drop off locations for items are: Sharp County Extension (Sharp County Courthouse), Mike Watson State State Farm Insurance and WRAAA in Ash Flat.

Items to donate: nail clippers, nail files, lotion, soap, shampoo, toothpaste, deodorant, peroxide, rubbing alcohol, bandaids, antibiotic ointment, Kleenex, Chapstick, wash cloths, gloves, blankets, towels, stationary, pens, stamps, word puzzles, magnifiers, gift certificates for hair cut, microwave popcorn, pudding cups, fruit cups, dried fruit, hard candy, canned ham, individual crackers or gift cards from Walmart, Town and Country, Dollar General, etc.
