Dear Editor,

I would like to take this opportunity to thank the wonderful people in my community for their help and support for the benefit given for my son, Charlie Hall and his family held on Dec. 2 at the Ash Flat Church of Christ Life Care Center. It was such an outpouring of support in the generous funds that were raised to help with his medical expenses in his battle with Stage IV rectal cancer.

The community merchants, banks, individuals, friends and family generously donated items, delicious baked goods, cooked wonderful chili and gave money, but more than the material things; they gave of themselves through prayers and words of support that are priceless to us as a family. I would like to list everyone that donated items but I am afraid that I would miss someone, so I hope each of you that made this benefit a success and know that we are extremely grateful and very appreciative.

This community is known to help others in need and goes above and beyond to display that community spirit. My family and I are very blessed to be apart of this incredible community. I would like to also take this time to shout out a special thanks to the ladies that took on this task and made it come together for a successful benefit: Clarissa Allen, Kathy Nix, Mary Ellen Hensley, Cindy Willis, Melanie Billingsley (and Billy Bob), Dianna and Dennis Welte. On behalf of Charlie, Vanessa, Zander and Emmalie, Paul and I wish you a blessed Christmas season and thank you again for continued prayers as we continue to fight this battle called cancer.

Sincerely,

Linda Hall

Ash Flat, Ark.
