Wednesday, June 26, 2019

Bear Partnership provides resources to students from underrepresented backgrounds. It’s housed in the College of Education at Missouri State University.

Students who attend the week-long program explore what a career in education looks like. The program also focuses on easing the transition from high school to college.

Throughout the week, students:

• Practiced for the ACT.

• Learned about admissions and financial aid.

• Explored job opportunities, clubs and organizations on campus.

• Immersed themselves in the Springfield community.

Four seniors from Thayer High School participated in the event held June 9-14.

Joshua Brewer is the son of John Brewer.

Gillian Franke is the daughter of Kenneth Franke and Angie Gann.

Adriana Tharp is the daughter of Preston Tharp and Jennifer Powell.

Takota Wiechman is the son of Chantelle Allison.
