Basketball season is now underway at Cave City and Highland.

Cave City

The Cave City Cavemen got off to a 2-0 start with wins over Westside (Jonesboro) and Highland at the Highland Classic. On Monday, Nov. 18, the Cavemen defeated Westside by a score of 62-59. They returned on Thursday, Nov. 21 and defeated the host Highland Rebels 53-18. Cave City’s next action is scheduled for an away conference game at Riverview (Searcy, Arkansas) on Friday, Dec. 6.

The Cave City Girls’ Basketball Team opened the season with a two-point win (53-51) over Mammoth Spring at Mammoth Spring. Cave City’s next action was scheduled for an away game at Highland on Monday, Dec. 2.

Highland

The Highland Rebels have started the basketball season 0-3. The Rebels started the season losing to Mountain View (36-32) in a close game at home on Tuesday, Nov. 19. Next, in the Highland Classic at home, the Rebels lost 53-18 to Cave City. Then, on Thursday, Nov. 21, Highland lost to Salem in the Highland Classic 52-31. Highland’s next action is a non-conference game scheduled for Tuesday, Dec. 3, at Marmaduke (Arkansas).

The Highland Lady Rebels started the season 0-3. In recent action, the Lady Rebels lost the season opener at home on Monday, Nov. 19, to Marmaduke 53-27. Highland lost to Viola on in the Highland Classic to Viola by the score of 49-14. On Thursday, Nov. 25, Highland lost a close one at home to Mammoth Spring by a score of 28-25. The Lady Rebels next action is scheduled for Monday, Dec. 2, in a home game against Cave City.
