COVID-19 update in the tri-county area

Fulton County was notified on Thursday, April 23, of its first positive COVID-19 test result.

The Arkansas Department of Health contacted Fulton County Judge Jim Bicker April 23 with notification of a positive COVID-19 test in Fulton County. “There was little additional information given at that time. The state health official did compliment the county on the job our citizens have done in staying COVID-19 free for as long as we did,” said Bicker. Judge Bicker asks the citizens of Fulton County to continue to follow the actions of handwashing and social distancing. “We will get through this,” he added.

According to a list of facilities from ADH, the positive test in Fulton County came from Southfork River Therapy and Living.

As of press time, there remained only one case in Fulton County and 90 negative test results reports.

Izard and Sharp counties have seen increases in positive COVID-19 tests. Izard County now has nine confirmed cases, with four of those “recovered”. There have been 64 negative test results in Izard County.

The interactive map through the Arkansas Department of Emergency Management shows Sharp County has nine confirmed cases, with three recoveries listed, however; there are being reports made Sharp County has additional cases. The interactive map shows there being 64 negative test results in Sharp County.

The list of facilities from ADH listed Ash Flat Nursing and Rehab as having two positive test results from residents.
