Woman faces charges in Izard County after infant injured
According to Chief Deputy Charley Melton, on August 9 at approximately 6:00 p.m. deputies responded to an address off of West Spring Hill Road in Oxford for a domestic disturbance. While deputies were responding, dispatch received another call in reference to the same address that stated the suspect, Brittney Vasey, age 25 of Clayton Wisconsin, but who has been in Oxford for the last several months, was assaulting a one-year-old child. During this time, it was learned that Vasey had become physically abusive to the one-year-old child and when other adults at the residence stepped in to stop the abuse, Vasey became abusive to them. Vasey also caused damage to a vehicle that was at the residence. As a result, Vasey has been charged with domestic battery 2nd degree; a class “C” felony, endangering the welfare of a minor 1st degree; a class “D” felony, three counts of battery 3rd degree; a class “A” misdemeanor, and criminal mischief 2nd degree; a class “B” misdemeanor.
