Cave City man arrested following rape allegation
A man from Cave City has been placed under arrest and is awaiting the filing of formal charges of rape.
According to a press release from the Cave City Police Department, officers were dispatched to a location on Main Street on Aug. 15 for a report of rape.
When officers arrived on scene, they spoke with the caller who advised her granddaughter had told her she had been raped.
The victim told her grandmother and officers the man’s name was James Walley, 19.
“The grandmother verified James Walley had been around the property on this date,” the report said.
Sharp County Sheriff Detective Sgt. Cody Bailey and Cave City Police Chief Brian Barnett, traveled to Walley’s residence in Cave City and located him.
“After an interview with James Walley, he was taken into custody and transported to Sharp County Jail and the case file given to the Sharp County Prosecutors office for formal charges,” the release said.
