“Entrepreneurs Unlimited: A Pitch Contest” gives small businesses cash and resources to help them pivot and reboot
Entrepreneurs will have the opportunity to pitch their ideas and win cash prizes on November 16, 2020, when Communities Unlimited, Inc., presents “Entrepreneurs Unlimited: A Pitch Contest.”Small businesses are the core of the economy, and Communities Unlimited’s Entrepreneurship and Lending teams work to facilitate the startup and growth of small businesses. The competition aims to assist business owners in Arkansas, Mississippi, Tennessee, and Texas as they adjust to the economic impact of the pandemic. These funds can be used for working capital, business expansion, introducing a new product or service, or other ideas that help the business survive during these times. Startup ideas are also welcome to compete. The winner of the pitch contest will receive $3,000 in cash for their business. The runner up will receive $2,000.There will also be a People’s Choice award of $1,000, where audience members can vote for their favorite business idea. Participants located in the Communities Unlimited service area may be eligible for free business assistance from a management consultant and consideration for a small business loan from Communities Unlimited. The “Entrepreneurs Unlimited” contest will take place online as a virtual competition. Contestants can register online at www.communitiesu.org/pitchcontest and will submit a two-minute video pitching their business. Then, on November 16 at 5:30 p.m., contestant videos will be shown to a live audience, including participants, their friends and family, and a panel of judges. The judges will have the opportunity to ask questions about the contestant’s business and then decide the top two winners. Audience members will be able to vote on their favorite for the People’s Choice award winner.Entrepreneurs Unlimited: A Pitch Contest is part of Global Entrepreneurship Week.
