Thayer Fun & Friends Senior Center is seeking bids for work needed at the facility.

The facility is seeking to have a mop sink installed for which a place has been delegated for placement.

In addition, gutters are also in need of being installed. The center previously had to cancel a curbside meal event due to flooding. Regional Lead for Thayer and Alton centers Meghan Haenel stated they need a system to help route the water a different place.

They are seeking to totally remodel the garage into a frozen meal prep room. This is due to an increase in demand of these meals.

“For the meals we would like to convert that space to a usable space instead of storage,” said Haenel. She discussed a remodel on the garage would include a drop ceiling and a walk-in freezer. Grants for the equipment would be available through the USDA to help with the remodel.

The board is accepting bids for the remodel and SeniorAge Area Agency on Aging will pay for the mop sink project.

Haenel stated now is a perfect time to get these projects going as the center is closed to the public.
