Cherokee Village Water Department to improve system
According to Tom Thornton, General Manager of the Cherokee Village Water Department, the company is gearing up to make some improvements to some of the department’s systems.
“We have a 150,000 gallon in ground tank we are going to be renovating. It is tank number two which is a ground storage tank,” Thornton said.
The tank will be taken off line, sealed and the exterior will be sand blasted, sealed and painted as well.
“Our customers won’t notice it. We will still be able to provide water to the Village. If usage continues the way it is, service won’t be interrupted,” Thornton said. “It will take three weeks from the start date which will be in December or the first of the year.”
Thornton said once the tank is taken offline, there is no anticipation of the need for a boil water order or any other types of interruption to service.
