Alton School District moves to AMI-X remote learning
Alton School District announced on Thursday, Nov. 12 the district would move to AMI-X remote learning, which began on Friday, Nov. 13 and will continue until Friday, Nov. 20.
“We now have less available bus drivers (regular and substitute) than we have routes (nine daily) after being notified of quarantine situations after the morning routes were completed...,” was stated in the announcement.
“Due to the nature of the quarantine rules and length of quarantine requirements, this bus driver shortage will not be any different or improved any between now and Nov. 20, and thus is the factor causing us to change to the AMI-X remote learning format starting Nov. 13. No days will have to be added back into the calendar during this transition to AMI-X,” was further stated.
School will resume in-person classes on Monday, Nov. 30 after the already scheduled Thanksgiving break from Monday, Nov. 23 to Friday, Nov. 27.
