St. Bernard’s welcomes Shackelford as provider
St. Bernard’s First Care in Highland recently announced a familiar face serving in a new way as Crystal Shackelford becomes the newest nurse practitioner added to the team.
“I have worked for St. Bernard’s for 13 years and started out as a CNA. I had been working at the hospital but I live here. When this opportunity came available, I wanted to take it,” Shackelford said.
“This is my community and I love St. Bernard’s and their mission which is to provide Christlike healing to the community.”
Shackelford will work with Dr. Nick Guinn to provide care to patients who choose to use the services of St. Bernard’s.
“We are here Monday through Friday, 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., and I am seeing everyone,” Shackelford said.
As St. Bernard’s shares space with and serves the Highland School District School Based Health Clinic, Shackelford said she would also be seeing students who come to the clinic.
“We can see anybody and are here for the community. We are a primary care clinic and I want people to know I am here for them. I am from here, I don’t plan on going anywhere and taking care of people is my passion,” Shackelford said. “I still work as a hospitalist and go there [Jonesboro] and work as well, but I will primarily be at the clinic here at Highland.”
