This basketball season, the Alton community has been the recipient of a special feature for fans to view games, Alton Sports Network, which is live streaming Alton Comets and Alton Lady Comets high school home basketball games.

This service is being provided by Andy Earls and his company, Redline Media Alliance.

In a press release from Alton Bank written by Dana Roberts, it was stated “the delivery channel of the live streaming was through the Alton Sports Network Facebook page and at times available on YouTube. The entire Big Springs Conference Tournament held at Alton was streamed live last week for everyone and anyone to watch these games live without leaving their home or having to pay to watch. This is extra beneficial at this time because of the COVID risk. The quality of the live stream has been amazing. Multiple cameras placed in different areas of the gym have provided better views of the game than you could see sitting at the game personally. The games can be watched live at the time the game is played or anytime you want to watch because it remains on the Alton Sports Network Facebook page.”

Further stated in the press release was that several volunteers assisted Earls and have helped during the conference tournament and home games. “Austin Bradley, of Summersville, and Tom Clary, of Alton, helped out with the play-by-play announcing. Jonathan Clary, Cade Clary, Ty Earls and Tim Earls stepped in to operate cameras. Joby Steele was a big part of this project getting off the ground and has assisted Andy with whatever was needed from getting sponsors, getting equipment and whatever it has taken to get the live stream up and running. Andy wanted to thank all the volunteers, sponsors, students, coaches, school administration, etc. for the warm welcome he received at Alton School. He also wanted to give a “shout out” to all the followers and comments he has received during the live streamed games. The number of people who have and are watching the sport events live streamed has been amazing.”

“The plan is to continue the live stream for Alton Comet baseball, Alton Lady Comet softball, and special school programs such as graduation. There are some local businesses sponsors who jumped on board to get this project going and have been super happy with the ad coverage that has been provide in the live streams. Alton Bank, Shepherd’s View Assisted Living, West Plains Savings and Loan and Clary Funeral Home jumped at the chance to be Alton Sports Network’s Primary sponsors. There are still available spots for being a Crater Sponsor for $250. With Crater sponsorship, businesses will have their ad ran before, during and after each stream. Businesses can provide their logo, 30 second or less advertising script, and $250 to become a sponsor of Alton Sports Network for the remainder of the school year. Being a sponsor allows you to support Alton School sports and events as well as promote your businesses to the amazing number of viewers who are watching the events,” was stated in the press release.

Redline Media Alliance is only providing the services to three schools, which are in Alton, Mo., Corning, Ark., and Van Buren, Mo.

“I think our community is very fortunate to have this available at Alton School. If you want to become a sponsor and keep the Alton Sports Network running, contact Andy Earls to get started,” said Roberts.
