Thursday, February 18, 2021

The Fulton County Hospital Board of Directors recently held its January 2021 meeting.

Bill Couch of Welch, Couch and Company presented their FYE 2020 annual financial audit. The audit cited no areas of concern.

The Annual Safety Summary was presented. The summary noted total number of safety drills, workers compensation claims and staff education.

The quarterly Quality Assurance Plan was presented. The report noted measures being monitored for quality.

Dr. Blake Dixon was presented for Consulting Privileges. Dr. Dixon, who works for White River Health System, will be working in the Emergency Department. Also, Dr. David Kauffman was presented for renewal of his Active Staff Privileges. Privileges were granted for both physicians.

CEO Curren Everett presented the monthly financials noting a down trend in outpatient volumes. Everett contributed the downed volumes of COVID-19. Everett noted the number of COVID positive patients admitted to the hospital had decreased over the last week.

Due to the decrease of coronavirus patients, the hospital re-opened visitation hours on Feb. 14. Visiting hours are 3 to 6 p.m. every day. Only one visitor will be allowed per patient per day. Visitors will continue to be screened at the front entrance for visitor, staff and patient safety and must wear a mask. Any visitor who does not meet the conditions for screening will not be allowed to visit. Exception to the rules of visitation will be considered on a case-by-case basis, and with the approval of the physician in charge of the patient’s care, the Charge RN or Emergency department RN and the Infection Control RN

“We are pleased to be able to do this for our community. Please assist us in assuring patient and staff safety as we take this first, small step toward returning to ‘normal’,” said the hospital’s social media post.
