Ester Faye Thomas, 79, of Oxford, passed from this walk of life to her Heavenly home, Friday, September 8, 2023, at Stone County Medical Center in Mountain View, Arkansas.
She was born on January 3, 1944, in Fifty-Six, Arkansas, the daughter of the late Ralph Steven and Cleo (Holt) Sexton. Ester spent her working years as a beautician and a cook at the nursing home in Manila, which was one job she loved. Ester was united in marriage to David “Bo” Thomas on April 17, 1959, in Lake City, Arkansas. She loved her family immensely and enjoyed being the most faithful and loving wife to Bo and the best mother to her children. Ester was an excellent cook especially when it came to homemade biscuits. She was always ready to feed her family. She had a wonderful sense of humor and was always quick witted. Ester professed her faith in the Lord Jesus Christ to her family, had a personal relationship with the Lord and was a member of Salem First Baptist Church in Salem, Arkansas. She will be greatly missed by her family.
Ester is survived by her daughter, Judy Hulse and husband Darrel of Paragould and Gerald “David” Thomas and wife Kathy of Oxford; brothers, Ervin Sexton and wife Rosie of Leachville, Arkansas and Troy Sexton and wife Mary of Calico Rock, Arkansas; sister, Hester Pitts of Calico Rock, Arkansas; grandchildren, Ashley Walker (Micah), Jason Thomas (Stephanie), Charlotte Barajas (George), Cortney Hill (Justin), Zachary Thomas (Sarah), Amanda Apple, Bradley Gates, Jeremy Gooch, Amy Cluck (Ronie),Josh Gooch (Kristine) and 28 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Bo Thomas; son Larry Thomas; parents, Ralph and Cleo Sexton and brother, Lester Sexton.

Funeral Services will be Tuesday, September 12, 2023, beginning at 2:00 PM at Salem First Baptist Church in Salem. Burial will follow in Oxford Cemetery. Visitation will be prior to the service beginning at 1:00 PM at the church.
