Fulton County Fair plans grand return in 2021
After nearly every event or festival was cancelled in 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic, local residents are more excited than ever about the return of their favorite events in 2021.
This article contains information received regarding the fair so far.
The 2021 Fulton County Fair is scheduled for July 26-31. Fair officials are planning a week-long event with the usual competitions, exhibits and midway. Plans are also underway for a concert featuring the popular Arkansas singer Cory Jackson, a two-night rodeo, and the popular truck pull as well as some new events. With the decrease in COVID cases and the number of vaccinations in Fulton County, officials are working to get ready for “The Best Week of the Summer” with improved facilities including a new sheep and goat barn and new arena bleachers.
The Creative Arts and Livestock Tabloids are online and can be accessed on the fair website, www.fultoncountyfair.org. Exhibitors are encouraged to review the departments and divisions and start planning 2021 fair exhibits. Photos, food preservation, art, needle work and craft exhibits made since the 2019 fair can be entered in this year’s fair. Exhibitors who do not have a computer or internet access can obtain a paper copy of the tabloid at the Fulton County Fair Office. Online entries are open and will remain open until July 10.
The Salem VFW Post 9777 Auxiliary Patriotic Art Contest will be held this year at he 2021 Fulton County Fair. The theme of the contest is “What Red, White, and Blue Means To Me.” Art work can be any medium and must be framed or mounted on heavy poster board, wired and ready to hang. Sawtooth hangers cannot be used. The VFW Auxiliary will present cash awards of $25, $20, and $15 to each age category. Entries will receive regular fair premiums in addition to the cash awards.
Rules are available online on the fair website at www.fultoncountyfair.org or can be obtained at the Fulton County Fair Office at the fairgrounds, 124 Arena Lane in Salem. They can be emailed to those interested by calling 870-895-5565. All entries should be entered by July 10 and checked in on July 26 from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.
The Fulton County Fair Association is accepting reservations for commercial booth space for the 2021 Fulton County Fair. Local businesses, clubs, and individuals are encouraged to reserve commercial booth space now as space is very limited because of the fair concert on Friday night. Booths will be in the Salem Civic Center where several events will be held during fair week.
Inside booths are 10 x 10 ft. and rent for $75 per space with an additional fee of $10 for electricity. Outside booths are 12 x 20 ft. and rent for $130 per space with an additional fee of $20 for electricity. Any vendor selling items must abide by Arkansas sales tax laws.
Booths set up from 2 to 5 p.m. on Monday, July 26 and remain in place until Saturday, July 27. For more information, contact the Fulton County Fair office at 870-895-5565 or e-mail email@example.com.
