Maggie Campbell, Associate of Science in Education (ASE) Coordinator at Ozarka College, has been named 2022 Outstanding Faculty of the Year. Campbell leads the Teacher Education program. Ozarka’s education program prepares students for rewarding careers in early childhood, elementary, and middle school education.
The Summer of 2022 Hardy Street Music starts off this Memorial Day weekend with some wonderful musical artists streaming live music from the Gazebo at Dr. Thompson’s Park.
The Spring River Car Show will be held on Saturday, June 4 at Loberg Park in Hardy. The event will open to the general public from 9 a.m. until 2 p.m. Registration for those who want to show their vehicle is from 8 to 10 a.m. Prizes will be awarded at 2 p.m.
The Cherokee Village Swim Club starts its summer exercise program on Tuesday, May 31 and will meet Tuesday through Friday mornings every week (weather permitting) throughout the summer at Thunderbird pool. Classes begin at 8 a.m. for water aerobics and at 9 a.m. for a deep-water workout.
The Ash Flat Library now offers its weekly Preschool Story Time readings online. Each reading can be accessed through the Ash Flat Library Facebook page at www.face book.com/ashflatlibrary1. The captivating readings are usually given by Ash Flat Library Manager Susan Funnell, and will remain available through the library’s Facebook page indefinitely.
Singing on the Lawn featuring Hallelujah Harmony Quartet will be held on Saturday, May 28 at 3 p.m. in the parking lot beside the Evening Shade First Baptist Church. Also appearing will be The Far ris Family.
A benefit auction and dinner will be held to help support Coach Blake Medlock and his family as he recovers from esophageal cancer. The event will be held at AL Hutson Memorial Center on June 11. Dinner will be at 5 p.m. with a live auction to follow at 6 p.m.
