Bobby Gene Caldwell was born the son of William Thomas Caldwell and Ethel Vianna (Ray) Caldwell on March 27, 1931, in Billmore, Mo. He departed this life on May 16, 2022, at the age of 91 at his home in Thayer, Mo., with his family by his side.

Arkansas Tech University has announced its Dean’s List for undergraduate students on its Russellville campus for the spring 2022 semester. A student must achieve a 3.5 grade point average or higher and complete at least 12 hours of collegelevel coursework to be named to the Dean’s List.

Natural State turkey hunters saw an uptick in checked birds during this spring’s three-week turkey hunting season, which ran from April 18 to May 8. Hunters checked 7,578 turkeys, an 8 percent increase from last year’s 7,013-bird total.
The Arkansas Department of Agriculture is pleased to announce that additional funding has been made available to assist with feral hog eradication efforts in Arkansas. Senator John Boozman was instrumental in securing $650,000 in federal funding through the Consolidated Appropriations Act of 2022 for the Arkansas Department of Agriculture to implement additional eradication efforts across the state. Additionally, the Buffalo River Conservation Committee (BRCC) allocated $74,960 to the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service Wildlife Services (USDA Wildlife Services) to expand eradication efforts within the Buffalo River watershed.
