The Arkansas Game and Fish Commission today unanimously approved a package of regulations changes that included the adoption of a new waterfowl season structure, beginning with the 2023-24 seasons. The upcoming waterfowl season will follow the same format as last season, with the following dates: 2022-23 Arkansas Waterfowl Seasons Duck, Coot and Merganser — Nov.
Highland City Council met on Tuesday, May 10 at Highland City Hall. Mayor Russell Truitt called the meeting to order at 6 p.m. The minutes from the April meeting were approved, as was the current agenda.
Roger Nicholson, CTE Coordinator with the Highland Public Schools, was recently named the 2022 Arkansas Association of Career and Technical Administrators (AACTEA) Administrator of the Year. Mr. Mike Mertens, AAEA Assistant Executive Director presented Mr. Nicholson with the award during a school board meeting on Monday, May 16.
The Cherokee Village Swim Club was started many decades ago, as early as 1984 or earlier. It is believed to have been the idea of some Cherokee Village home owners, many of whom were lifeguards, and was known for its emphasis on swimming for health. Today, it is primarily focused on water aerobics exercise classes.
Find every AGFC fish attractor with your phone or fishfinder Last month Jon Stein, Arkansas Game and Fish Commission fisheries biologist in northwest Arkansas, had the opportunity to present to AGFC commissioners and the public the highlights from the latest large-scale habitat project at Beaver Lake. Biologists created 145 new fish attractor locations during the project, but it’s only the tip of the iceberg when it comes to habitat and fishattracting cover the AGFC has placed in the last five years.
