Ozarka and Emerson officials recently announced the placement of three Ozarka Precision Machining students at Sharp County’s largest employer, Emerson. Scheduled to complete their training program this month, Matthew Jaggars, of Cherokee Village; Randolph Martin, of Ravenden; and Mary Wanley, of Cherokee Village have all already accepted offers of employment to begin working at Emerson.
Emma Weeks and Quadarius Jackson have been awarded the 2022 Founders Awards at Williams Baptist University. The awards were presented to the pair during WBU’s graduation luncheon on Friday, May 6.
Ozark Folk Center State Park’s Cowboy Music & Arts Festival is Friday, May 20, and Saturday, May 21, in scenic Mountain View. The two-day event celebrates the songs and stories of the American Cowboy and will feature Grammy Awardwinning musicians, family-friendly entertainment, art, live music in the Craft Village and Southern food buffets at the Skillet Restaurant.
Ann Wilson, President of Hill ‘N Hollow Quilters Guild, along with Diana Arikan and Ginger Alexander, will be conducting quilting workshops on Friday, Oct. 14, during the N. W. Arkansas Quilt Congress.
Ozarka College is excited to be offering a three-week Certified Nursing Assistant Continuing Education Course. This course will take place on the Ash Flat campus June 6th – 23, Monday through Thursday, from 8 a.m. to 4:45 p.m. each day with clinical location and hours TBA.

To celebrate, stock up on books old and new and have fun reading.
Ravenden Springs town clean up will be held on Saturday, May 21. Dumpsters will be on site from 8 a.m.-3 p.m. for citizens that live within the town limits or receive water services from the town of Ravenden Springs. The location of the dumpsters will be at the field by the Smokey BelcherPark parking area. A loader and excavator will be on site to assist with unloading.
The Summer of 2022 will bring a great concert lineup of weekend musicians to Hardy at the gazebo in Dr. Thompson’s Park. Country, jazz, blues and all kinds of skip-stepping music will be streaming the streets of Hardy on Saturdays from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. and holiday weekend Sundays from 1 to 3 p.m. The music starts off on Memorial Day weekend to give the summer a rhythmic kick-start. The current summer line-up is as follows:
The fourth annual GM Curtis Futch Memorial Karate Tournament will be held Saturday, May 21, at the A. L. Hutson Center in Highland. Delargy’s Mighty Warriors Karate for Christ, of Saddle, is hosting the competition where karate students and masters of all ages will compete.
