There are many great summer traditions held throughout the area including the upcoming Old Soldiers Reunion which is scheduled to be held in July. Scheduled to begin July 11 through July 16, with the carnival from July 12 through July 16, this year’s line-up has many great entertainment acts for patrons to enjoy in addition to games and a silent auction.
A young girl, Karlee Pitts, of Ash Flat, waltzed into the Ash Flat Library with her mom on Tuesday, June 14, holding up one of the magical star rocks painted by library fairies to claim her treasure, a book of her choice. She found the star rock at the Ash Flat Ballpark. “I am so excited! Me and my mom were just hanging around. I was complaining about how about how I didn’t have enough attention, and so we just went to the park and we found it,” giggled Karlee. She was fast because the Villager Journal announcing the contest had just shown up on newsstands that morning. She quickly leaped to go pick out a book of her choice.
