Students on the Chancellor’s and Dean’s Lists for the spring 2022 semester at Arkansas State University have been announced. The lists recognize undergraduate students who achieved the highest grade-point averages while enrolled in a minimum of 12 credit hours of study.
This Saturday, June 18, will bring another sound to serenade Main Street Hardy. From 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., Singing in the Shade will send country music melodies streaming from the gazebo at Dr. Thompson’s Park. Note, this is a change from the original line-up of music groups that was initially printed in the newspaper before Memorial Day. Come enjoy another day strolling along the streets of Hardy accompanied by some toetapping tunes. If you want to sit and relax, there are several umbrellas and other opportunities for shade in Dr. Thompson’s Park. Bring a sandwich, a drink and enjoy!
Early voting for the runoff elections in Fulton and Izard counties began Tuesday, June 14 and is ongoing through Monday, June 20. No polls will be open on Saturday, June 18.

The Brockwell Gospel Music School will hold its 75th Closing Program on Friday evening, June 24 beginning at 7 p.m. Come enjoy great gospel singing by students of all ages from Kindergarten through adult. Students and teachers from as many as six states attend every year to learn more about music and singing in their churches. Everyone is welcome to attend the Program in our air-conditioned space! A love offering to support the music school will be taken.
The annual Ravenden Springs Homecoming and Potluck will be held Saturday, June 18 beginning at 12 noon at the old Ravenden Springs School building located at 64 Ash St. Ravenden Springs, AR 72460.
