JacksonStrongPayitForward Scholarship Committee is proud to announce this years scholarship recipients. Due to our generous sponsors and successful golf tournament we were able to award seven, $500 scholarships this year to the following students. Riley Moser from Melbourne High School, Emily Sevor from Salem High School, Morgan Johnson from Salem High School, Katelynn Johnson from I.C.C. High School, Landon McBride from I.C.C. Social media sites are a valuable resource for learning and connecting with others, but these platforms also enable bullying, anonymous messaging and exploitation of children by criminals.

The Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS) is dedicated to “helping people help the land” providing farmers and landowners with resources and cost share in conservation as well as opportunities to help landowners be more efficient and productive with their land and natural resources. NRCS provides cost share and technical assistance to all landowners and operators with special funds for beginning, limited resource, socially disadvantaged and historically underserved farmers. Why is this important? It is very important for all people to have opportunities to better their land. Whether these people have a small operation or a large operation they represent and ultimately are a huge part of the future of farming, agriculture, and conserving natural resources.

As gun debates continue across the United States, local law and gun experts share insight on current Arkansas gun laws. At the University of Arkansas at Little Rock, Law Professor Robert Steinbuch of Bowen School of Law said the laws in Arkansas can vary based on location and license.

The Arkansas Department of Education (ADE), partnered with Arkansas State University (ASU) and the Arkansas Out of School Network, have awarded $1.8 million for summer and extended-year learning programs, including four local schools.
