Ashton P Cowan of Melbourne, Ark., was named to the spring 2022 Dean’s List at the University of Central Arkansas. Cowan was among more than 1,300 students named to the spring 2022 Dean’s List.
On Thursday, June 9, the Cherokee Village Historical Society (CVHS) will hold its monthly meeting at 5 p.m. at Thunderbird Recreation Center. The guest speaker will be Marjorie Rogers, who will speak on the forming of the City of Cherokee Village. CVHS meetings are open to the public.

Since 2010, the Arkansas Scholarship Lottery has helped raise more than $1.1 billion to fund more than 675,000 scholarships for students attending 51 Arkansas colleges and universities. This week we want to remind you about the fast approaching deadline to apply for the next round of scholarships.
The Democratic Party of Fulton County will meet Monday, June 13 in the Salem Civic Center at the Fulton County Fairgrounds in Salem. Social hour starts at 5:30 pm and the business meeting will start at 6 p.m. The committee will be electing state committee members. Everyone is encouraged to attend and enjoy refreshments and fellowship before the meeting.

Ellis Clayborn of Mountain View, Ark. completed his instrument rating at the Melbourne Municipal Airport on May 17. He plans to earn an Associate of Applied Science degree in Aviation – Commercial Pilot upon completion of this program.
