The fourth annual GM Curtis Futch Memorial Karate Tournament was held Saturday, May 21, at the A. L. Hutson Center in Highland. Delargy’s Mighty Warriors’ Karate for Christ, of Saddle, hosted the competition where karate students of all levels and ages competed.

Camden Mount, of Cherokee Village, Ark., was named to the University of Mississippi’s Spring 2022 Honor Roll lists. Mount, majoring in Political Science, was named to the Chancellor’s Honor Roll, which is reserved for students who earn a semester GPA of 3.75-4.00.

Mammoth Spring FBLA is hosting a yard Sale fundraiser to raise money to attend the National Leadership Conference in Chicago, Ill. this summer. Melissa French placed 2nd in Accounting I at the State Leadership Conference in April and will be competing in this event at the National Conference in June.
Mountain Home Moose Lodge #1953 will hold its monthly all-u-can-eat fried fish and shrimp dinner this coming Friday, June 3 from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. Guests may order fried fish, fried shrimp or a combination plate which also includes hushpuppies, French fries, coleslaw, vegetable, roll, dessert and a beverage. Janet Yancey, of Melbourne School District, has been named Alumni of the Year at Ozarka College. Janet is Melbourne Schools’ high school counselor and district test coordinator.
MaKayla Goins of Mountain View, Ark. has been selected to receive one of two scholarships honoring the late Jean Jennings of Mountain View. The Jean Jennings Memorial Scholarships are awarded each year to two Mountain View residents attending Ozarka College. MaKayla will receive $250 for the fall 2022 semester and $250 for the spring 2023 semester.
A man from Mammoth Spring is facing a significant amount of class Y felonies after numerous images of child pornography and assault to a child were found on digital devices. According to documents, 30-year-old Kevin McGath faces 50 counts of manufacturing, possessing or viewing of matter depicting sexually explicit conduct involving a child, a class C felony and 10 counts of rape, a class Y feony.
