As high grain prices meet high temperatures, clock is ticking for corn, soybean growers

After years of depressed commodity prices, this could be the year for Arkansas grain growers to cash in — if just a few things go their way. The price of corn hit a nine-year high in April, as growers in South America experienced a low yields and grain exports from Russia and Ukraine have been significantly reduced by war and global sanctions.

Be the Sunshine Pageant: Young ladies discover their own potential and self-confidence

On Saturday, June 11, the Second Annual “Be the Sunshine” Pageant was held at the Hardy Civic Center. The pageant was promoted and directed by Miss Arkansas Diamond National, USA Jr. Teen, Elayna Russell, who provides an opportunity for ladies of all ages to come together and share their individual interests and attributes.

Capitol Week in Review

The Arkansas School Safety Commission has been set up again to update measures to protect students while they are in school. The governor issued an executive order to reinstate the commission in the wake of the mass murder of 19 children and two adults at an elementary school in Uvalde, Texas, on May 24.
