Welches celebrate 50th anniversary

John Ed and Linda Welch of Salem, Ark., recently celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary. The couple were married July 14, 1972 in Viola, Ark. They have three children - Jeff and wife, Kacy of West Plains; Jamie and husband, Seth of Salem; and Justin and wife, Jessica of Salem; and eight grandchildren - Bailey, Libby, Tripp, Anna, Ella, Bree, Emmitt and Amelia.

VFW Auxiliary #7831 honors long time officers

VFW Auxiliary #7831 in Mammoth Spring honored long time officers at their July meeting. Dorothy Parks (seated) was recognized for her service as President of the Auxiliary for the past 24 years. Sue Vanderpool (center) was also recognized for her service as a past President and serving terms in other offices at local and district levels. The current Auxiliary President June Grant led the presentation.
