The Izard County Sheriff’s Office and its staff acknowledges the loss of former Interim Sheriff Robert (Bob) Davidson of Sage. Bob passed from this earth to his heavenly home July 7, 2022.
The Arkansas State Police is investigating a Fulton County homicide that claimed the life of 57-year-old Kristy Marie Taylor, a Fulton County resident and local sheriff’s department employee. Taylor was found dead in the driveway of her home at 3012 Fawnwood Road southwest of Viola on Saturday, July 9 just before 6 p.m.
A $300,000 bond has been set for a man who is charged with one count of rape and five counts of sexual assault involving a minor child. On April 13, the Izard County Sheriff’s Office was notified by the Arkansas State Police Child Abuse Hotline of an alleged sexual assault that occurred in Izard County involving 39-year-old Jeremiah Coffer.
Fulton County Judge Gary Clayton issued a statement on putting Fulton County into a burn ban on July 6. According to a news release, due to the extremely dry conditions existing in Fulton County, a burn ban was ordered.
