Summer always brings back memories of my family’s road trips to Petit Jean State Park and other adventures around Arkansas. Whether I was in the back seat as a kid or driving my own daughters, there was always a lot to see and do as we explored the state.

Take a stroll down Hardy’s Main Street to live melodies

Hardy will be offering the sweet tunes of one of its most talented local artists this Saturday, July 16, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. The lovely AK Barnes will be entertaining shoppers and browsers from the gazebo at Dr. Thompson’s Park with her mesmerizing vocals with some of her own original songs, as well as some classic favorites. Her music style ranges from contemporary gospel music to the sounds of easy rock. Barnes’ unique style promises to guide you along your way to the park where you just might decide to take a break in the shade. Bring an ice cream or soda and come chill for awhile.

38th annual Antique & Classic Car Show to be held

The 38th annual Antique & Classic Car Show sponsored by Mammoth Spring Chamber of Commerce will be held on Saturday, Sept. 3 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Mammoth Spring State Park ball field. Judging will be at 11 a.m. The show will feature muscle car, rat rods, an tiques, classics, show trucks and modern class. More than 50 trophies will be awarded. The event will feature music, food, cruise in and T- shirts will be available.
