Officials at Missouri State University-West Plains (MSU-WP) recently awarded institutionally-funded scholarships to students for the 2022-2023 academic year. The students were selected from those who applied based on ACT (American College Test) scores, grade point average, standing in their graduating class and leadership shown in the community and in school activities.

The local Senior Centers and Housing Development Community Rooms, within the White River Area Agency on Aging, Inc service area, will extend hours to assist in heat relief when there is a Heat Advisory issued. Jody Castor of Cave City, Ark., graduated from the University of Arkansas at Little Rock during the spring 2022 semester. Castor graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science.
