Doyle Lee Shrable born March 5, 1947, in West Plains, Mo., to Rudolph Jonathan (Doc) Shrable and Erceil M. (Phillips) Shrable. Doyle left this earthly life peacefully at his home in Viola with his wife Judy and beloved pug Ziggi by his side on Wednesday, July 13, 2022.

Arkansas Game and Fish Commission sharpens conservation plan

Conservation plans for the future were the frontrunning topics at today’s meeting of the Arkansas Game and Fish Commission at its Little Rock Headquarters. In his report to the Commission, Director Austin Booth spoke about the agency’s newly developed strategic plan and annual report, which were both unveiled last night at a meeting with partner agencies and stakeholders.

Google and Facebook have a duopoly of the distribution of digital news content, which drives people to their platforms where they make money. The platforms hoard critical data and use clever tactics, like reframing stories in rich previews, to keep users on their sites – siphoning off the advertising revenue that small and local publishers need and weakening their ability to be rewarded for their own content.

Upgrades to amenities in the vicinity: Cherokee Village SID has been hard at work

The Cherokee Village (CV) Suburban Improvement District (SID) met Monday, July 18 at 6 p.m. at the CV North Golf Course. Commissioner Ron Page opened the meeting. Chairman Commissioner Tim Lee was absent. Commissioners David Nebel, Joe Kaiser and Susan Jett were all present, as well as General Manager (GM) Betsy Waugh. SID Attorney Grant Cox of Little Rock was live online via Zoom during the meeting and available to address questions.

John Lee Sloan, 90, died July 21 at Shepherds View Residential Care. Arrangements are under the direction of Carter Funeral Home in Thayer, Mo.
