“Christmas in July” indoor craft sale offered

Peace Lutheran Church of Cherokee Village, Arl. will be hosting a crafts sale event in their fellowship hall on Friday, July 15 from 8 am. - 5 p.m. and Saturday, July 16 8 a.m. - 4 p.m. It is being hosted by the church’s Quilting Ladies to raise funds for their ministry program to the community. There will be a variety of items available, ranging from quilts and various hand-crafted items by local artisans to an array of food items. This is your chance to get a head start on early Christmas shopping for friends and family.

Christmas in July ends at SRAG

The members of the Spring River Artists Guild (SRAG) would like to express our deep appreciation to allour guests who visited during our Christmas in July event. We do love visiting with you and thank you so much for stopping in to see what is new. We do feature oil, acrylic, watercolor, and poured paintings, many fused glass pieces, and hand crafted jewelry have been added for your shopping pleasure. Hardy History Association presents “Preacher Roe, When Baseball was Still a Game” presented by Mark Huscher

The August meeting of the Hardy History Association is scheduled for Thursday, Aug. 4 at 6:30 p.m. at the Hardy Gym, 203 School Street in Hardy. The featured speaker is Mark Huscher who will present about the life of Preacher Roe and his ties to Hardy. Spring River area since 1985 and currently works for FNBC. You may remember him from the Alco store in Highland where he worked for 32 years. Mark also serves on the board of directors for the Hardy History Association and is a self-described all-around sports enthusiast.

Community Grief Support Group fall session offered at Peace Lutheran Church

The nationally known grief support program called “GriefShare” is being offered again to the community on Tuesday mornings from 10 a.m. - 12 noon starting Aug. 9 at Peace Lutheran Church (located at the south entrance to Cherokee Village). Those who participated in the previous sessions have encouraged others to benefit from it as they have.
