Cave City High School blood drive Oct. 22
Cave City High School will be holding a blood drive on Saturday, Oct. 22 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. in the CNA classroom of the school located at 711 N. Main St. in Cave City. The blood drive is sponsored by the Lions Club of Cherokee Village.

Sharp County chosen for pilot program to help drug-addicted children reunite with family
The Sharp County Quorum Court met on Tuesday, Oct. 11 at the Sharp County Courthouse at 6 p.m. The meeting was scheduled one day later than usual due to the Columbus Day holiday. County Judge Gene Moore called the meeting to order. After the minutes from the September meeting were approved by the court, proceedings continued to the treasurer’s report.

Among the contested races in Sharp/ Fulton counties coming up in the general election to be held on Nov. 8, the mayoral race in Cherokee Village has brought a lot of attention for several reasons. There has been a call from many in the city for a mayoral debate.

Highland tennis season concludes
The Highland Rebel tennis season came to a close last week, but not until after a trip to the state tournament. The Rebels had six players qualify for play in the tournament that was held in Clarksville.
