Hardy welcomes the KAIT Weather Camera back home to Sharp County

Station KAIT, Channel 8, Weather Camera was recently resurrected at the Hardy Civic Center on Monday, Oct. 24. A ribbon cutting ceremony was held at 4:30 p.m. with Hardy Mayor Ernie Rose, FNBC President Marty Sellars and KAIT meteorologist Ryan Vaughan present. Several members of the Hardy Advertising and Promotions Commission and the Spring River Chamber of Commerce were also present for the event.

Horseshoe Bend sorority honors local first responders

Recently, the Beta Sigma Phi service sorority in Horseshoe Bend held an ice cream social event as a way of saying thank you to area first responders. Different ice creams, toppings and a counter full of homemade treats combined with lots of friendly conversation to create a welcoming event for any first responders who had time to stop by. Members enjoyed chatting with the responder community who were able to share in the relaxation.

A Place for Remembering – Hardy Cemetery

The monthly meeting of the Hardy History Association (HHA) is scheduled for Thursday, Nov. 3 at 6:30 p.m. in the Hardy Gym at 203 School Street in Hardy. Pene Hadley is the presenter and will share her program entitled 'A Place for Remembering - Hardy Cemetery.' Her talk will be about the history of cemeteries and how they relate to society by reflecting aspects of the people and the history of a community. Pene has always been fascinated with the history and stories of people buried in cemeteries. She enjoys learning who they were, what they did in life and how they died.
