Highland receives music grant
Congratulations to Mrs. Hope Bruner who applied for and received a $1,000 music grant from the Peter R. Marsh Foundation. This grant is used for any music education expenses. The conditions of the grant require that Mrs. Bruner's students perform at least three times throughout the school year at local senior facilities (retirement communities, senior centers, nursing homes, etc.). The students will not only perform at these facilities, but they'll also spend time interacting with the audience members after the performances. The grant encourages teaching empathy and compassion in addition to all things musical. We can't wait to update you with news of what Mrs. Bruner purchases with this grant and how she and her students decide to impact our local community.
