JONESBORO, AR – Thirty-four promising first-year students comprise the third Chancellor’s Leadership Class (CLC) at Arkansas State University. Students are chosen for CLC based on their character, leadership involvement in school and community, evidence of service to others, academic performance and potential for future success. In weekly sessions, the class focuses on academics, leadership, campus involvement, service and cultural engagement.
Another Hardy ATV/UTV/ Jeep ride, the seventh ride in a line-up of different rides out of Hardy, ended with great success! This ride held on Sept. 17, like the six previous rides over the last couple of years, was designed and hosted by Steven Richey. It was unique in that it had no off-road riding, just a nice all-road 42-mile scenic ride through the Ozark hills. Plus, the weather was beautiful.
The Ozark Foothills Literacy Project will host a training workshop for new tutors on Oct. 13 from 1:30 to 3 p.m. at their office located at 184 N. 5th St. in Batesville on the corner of Water and 5th. No experience is necessary. Anyone over the age of 18 is welcome to volunteer.
