Strawberry River Chapter Dar

Strawberry River Chapter DAR met Saturday, Dec. 3, with 12 members and two guests in attendance. Following the opening ritual and approval of minutes and the treasurer’s report, updates on three DAR committees were presented: (1) Wreaths Across America. The chapter is a recognized sponsor of WAA; this year we are sponsoring 54 wreaths which will be placed on the resting sites of Veterans buried in the Mountain Home Cemetery.

Cherokee Village SID considers important issues for 2023 budget decisions

The Cherokee Village (CV) Suburban Improvement District (SID) met on Wednesday, Dec. 14 at 3 p.m. at the North Golf Course meeting room. Vice Chairman David Nebel called the meeting to order since Chairman Ron Page had been running late. Commissioners Susan Jett, Joe Kaiser, Tony Stallsmith and Page were present, as well as General Manager (GM) Betsy Waugh. Attorney Joey Price attended by Zoom. The current agenda was approved by the commissioners, as were the minutes from the Nov. 21 meeting.

A Christmas Eve candlelight service open to all

Courtesy of Pastor Brian Pummill and the Cherokee Village Peace Lutheran Church Everyone in the community is cordially invited to join Peace Lutheran Church for a music- and hope-filled Christmas Eve candlelight service at 6 p.m. Special emphasis will be placed on finding peace and strength in the Lord despite the many challenges surrounding us daily. Casual attire is perfectly acceptable. The Peace Lutheran Church is located on Highway 175 after entering the south entrance into Cherokee Village.
