The Hardy Masonic Lodge (Wilson Lodge #432) hosted its 6th annual lineup of the Hardy Christmas Parade Saturday, Dec. 10. Wilson Lodge, next to Hardy City Hall, had a ringside seat to the parade lineup grounds and has been hosting hot chocolate, coffee and donuts for the past six years. They also provided a warm place to gather with restrooms for parade participates and workers. “The City of Hardy pays for the donuts, and we serve them up with hot drinks and a smile. It all started as a way to get more involved with community but has turned into a fun annual event that all the brothers look forward to,” said Greg Bess, a mason and current master of the lodge. This year with the rainy weather, their services were even more appreciated as they served over 100 folks. Photo/Submitted
Courtesy of the City of Cherokee Village and its furry friends at the animal control facility Our animal control facility in Cherokee Village has many adorable feline and cuddly canine critters just patiently waiting for a new family to come home to… MEANWHILE, as they wait, while they are still in the comforts of care and luxury only an animal control facility can provide, they have certain needs, and of course wants (it is the holiday gift season after all!). They each came up with a wish list that we at animal control have compiled into two broader lists, one for the felines and one for the canines.
The Cherokee Village Fire Department sponsored, and Cherokee Village United Methodist Church hosted, the annual community Thanksgiving Day dinner event, which provided a free turkey dinner to anyone who registered in time.
