Courtesy of the Arts Center of North Arkansas The Arts Center of North Arkansas (ACNA) has survived the COVID shutdown to emerge in 2022 better and stronger than ever. The most momentous happening was the receiving of the Arkansas Arts Council Grant. Thanks to it, the ACNA has paid its rent, phone and internet through December 2023. Some of the activities and acquisitions listed below were also due in part to that money. However, excluding the grant, the ACNA still raised over $11,000 from memberships, sales, classes, workshops, donations, etc. Heralding the ACNA’s presence has been a major focus this year. Its location has become more visible because of the banner at Papoose Park, the notices on the Cherokee Village sign there, the updated street signs, newspaper ads, flyers and posters. The ACNA’s active and updated Facebook page has had over 3,500 views for 2022, member Barbara Smock is keeping its web page updated and an updated, attractive, informative brochure was designed. The ACNA has improved the printing capabilities of the front office and is using the internet, Facebook, the ACNA’s web page and printed flyers to keep people informed. More people are recognizing where and who the ACNA is.
