Alexander Holzwarth was the sole graduate of the ceremony, becoming the first officer in his long line of enlisted and non-commissioned officer family members.

The legislature’s list of accomplishments in 2022 is lengthy and significant. During a special session in the summer, legislators reduced income taxes for about 1.6 million Arkansas taxpayers by moving up the effective date of the tax cuts adopted last year.
The Viola Longhorns senior boys’ basketball came away with their first conference win on Dec. 19 against Rural Special at home 4944.
The Salem VFW Post 9777 Auxiliary worked for six weeks getting ready for Christmas to help some of Fulton County kids. The Friday night bingo players provided gifts, bought auction items and donated cash. Auxiliary and VFW volunteers donated auction items and area businesses also donated.
During this season, we’re fortunate to have time to reflect on the past year and look ahead for what’s to come. That can stir lots of feelings, but appreciation and excitement are usually right at the top of the list.
