The holiday season can be very stressful; whether it is trying to find the perfect gifts, family drama, or financial stress, there is a good chance everyone will at least have one moment of stress during the holidays. Unfortunately, this stress also affects those struggling with drugs and alcohol.

Making a Difference for Veterans

As a son of a Master Sergeant in the Air Force who served for 23 years, I understand the unique challenges veterans and their families experience and how Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) benefits, programs and care are critical for men and women called to serve in our nation’s uniform. This is what drove me to serve on the Senate Veterans’ Affairs Committee and work with Arkansas veterans and Veterans Service Organizations in our state and nationwide to improve services and benefits veterans earned. Through our collaborative efforts, we’ve made positive reforms and updates to VA care and benefits.

Arts Center of North Arkansas January 2023 classes and events

Photography enthusiasts meet to discuss techniques and show their beautiful photos. Beginners welcome. Call or text Keith at 870-283-1037. Free Wednesday, Jan. 18, 1 – 3 p.m. Mix acrylic paint colors to pour over a bowl with the excess flowing onto a tile, creating amazingly beautiful designs of color. Arkansas State Parks introduces Club 52 program

Visitors get reward items for stamped passports Arkansas State Parks is introducing Club 52, a rewards program that encourages people to visit all 52 state parks. Club 52 is an extension of the Arkansas State Parks Passport Program, which helps guests document trips to state parks by receiving a stamp (or stamp rubbing) in an Arkansas State Parks Passport. Club 52 members get their passports stamped when they visit a state park and earn rewards for visits of five parks, 25 parks and 52 parks.
