SRGMC will feature an ‘Only in Arkansas” series for upcoming meetings in 2023

In order to learn and appreciate more about this beautiful state of Arkansas that we live in, the Spring River Gem & Mineral Club (SRGMC) in Cherokee Village will present an “Only in Arkansas” series, among other presentations throughout 2023. We will discover more of Arkansas through archeology, photography and mineralogy.

Arkansas House

More than 70 bills have been signed into law since the 2023 Regular Session began and several more are now making their way to the Governor’s desk. In the 6th week of the session, the House passed bills addressing mental health access, payment to our county jails, teacher retirement, and voter input on tax measures.

Beverly Sue Garner Sawyers

11-25-1950 – 02-13-2023 Beverly Sue Garner Sawyers, of Pineville, Ark., daughter of the late Bonnie Endicott Garner and Darrell Cotter of Viola, Ark., was born Nov. 25, 1950, in Gainesville, Mo. She departed this life Feb. 13, 2023 in Cherokee Village, Ark. at the age of 72 years, 2 months and 19 days. Beverly spent her life as a loving daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, homemaker and friend. Beverly was a licensed cosmetologist. She was a member of Grace Fellowship Church in Dolph.

Wylma Jean (Jenkins) Heiskell

04-18-1932 – 02-15-2003 Wylma Jean (Jenkins) Heiskell of Alton, Mo. was born on April 18,1932 to Wallace Nelson and Leona Davis Jenkins in Licking, Mo. She was united in marriageto James Wade Heiskell on Sept. 6, 1951 in Mammoth Springs, Ark. She departed this life on Feb. 15, 2023, while a resident at Good Samaritan in Mountain Home, Ar., at the age of 90.
