Mammoth Spring FFA

FFA Week is observed Feb. 20-24. The Mammoth Spring FFA Chapter will talk to younger students about how FFA raises leaders. They will also dress up every day with the following themes for each day: Monday, Feb. 20 - Camo Day; Tuesday, Feb. 21 Tractor Day; Wednesday, Feb. – Western Wednesday; Thursday, Feb. 23 – Career Day and Friday, Feb. 24 – Blue and Gold Day.

“Homesteading with Independence” conference coming to Batesville

BATESVILLE, Ark. — Homesteading appeals to those who seek self-reliance and self-sufficiency, so what better place to host a homesteading conference than in Independence County? The Independence County Extension Office will host the first “Homesteading with Independence” conference on March 1, with experts from the University of Arkansas System Division of Agriculture sharing their expertise in bees, backyard poultry, small ruminants, gardening, food preservation and more.
