LITTLE ROCK – The Senate has approved legislation that makes the single largest investment in public education in Arkansas history. Senate Bill 294, the governor’s education package, has 144 pages and 25 Senate co-sponsors.
We all know when we drive around this area whether it is in the Village or through Salem and the many backroads, the roads are bad. The local government is aware. The residents are aware, we all know.
I spend a great deal of my time on the road when I’m home in Arkansas. As a firm believer that the best ideas come from the ground up, I make it a priority to stay in constant contact with community leaders across our state. These visits provide me with plenty of ideas and perspective to bring back to Washington to help us grow, keep our families safer and healthier, and address some of the biggest issues we face.

The Bad Boy Mowers Ronnie Brogdon Invitational is an annual basketball tournament held on the campus of the Highland School District at the A.L. Hutson Memorial Center. The tournament features some of the best basketball in the area including teams from Arkansas, Tennessee, and Missouri. This event is not only an economic boost to the Highland community but also provides scholarship money to local athletes. The Sharp County Conservation District will test 200 samples of well/city/ pond and Stream water throughout Sharp County for land users. Two hundred tests will be performed for nitrates and phosphorous along with 100 bacteria tests.
