A city-wide clean-up will be held on Saturday, April 15, between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. at 2 Tekawitha Dr. (municipal garage) in Cherokee Village. With a valid ID, residents may bring up to two trailers of approved items to be dropped off.

The surplus sale held by Cherokee Village Suburban Improvement District (SID) ends Friday, March 31, 3 p.m. At this time, sealed bids will be opened and the highest bidders will have until Wednesday, April 5 by 3 p.m. to pick up their items.

On April 2, the Salem First Assembly Church, located at 118 Pinto Place in Salem, Arkansas, will hold a Community Egg hunt. The event will start with a service at 10:30 a.m. followed by a meal at 11:45 a.m. The kids event will take place at 12:30 p.m. with over $100 in prize eggs.
The Annual Property Owners’ Golf Tournament will be held on Saturday, April 22 at the North Golf Course with a 9 a.m. start time.

On Wednesday, March 29 at 1 p.m., a ground-breaking ceremony will take place at the Cherokee Village (CV) Animal Shelter, 1531 Hwy 289 North. The ceremony will mark the first phase of a transformation that comes about as a result of funds gifted by Vlasta “Val” Pour (Aug. 18, 1923 – Jan. 25, 2022) and Lois K. Mock (Dec. 18, 1925 – June 8, 2022). Animal shelter staff and volunteers, along with the mayor and members of the city council will be present as Perky Construction of Cave City readies the new site of the feline facility.
