Now that we’ve put winter behind us — at least on the calendar — it’s time for us to think about sprucing up our homes, inside and out. But it also may be time to do some financial spring cleaning.

Retired school teacher Dr. Diana Haselman will be presenting her next history and geography class, “Revelation,” beginning on Thursday, April 6. It will continue for six consecutive weeks from 1 to 2 p.m. each Thursday at the Cherokee Village First Baptist Church. The class if free and open to all adults.

The Ash Flat Fire Department will host a storm watching seminar on Tuesday, March 28 at 6 p.m. in the lecture hall at Ozarka College. A meterologist from the National Weather Service in Little Rock will give about a two hour presentation on what signs to look for when a storm may be approaching. The Ash Flat Library will hold a book sale on Saturday, April 1 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Ash Flat Community Center on Arnhart Street across from the library. Paperbacks will cost 25 cents, hardback books will cost 50 cents. Childrens’ books will sell two for 25 cents. For more information, please call 870994-2658.

Sharp County Quorum Court met Monday, March 13 at the Sharp County Courthouse in Ash Flat at 6 p.m. County Judge Mark Counts presided over the proceedings. The minutes from the February meeting were approved unanimously by the court.
