Lyon College launches new tuition discount program for area students

Lyon College director of college communications BATESVILLE, AR – Lyon College recently announced the creation of the Backyard Access Plan for area high school graduates that will encourage students to receive a world-class education close to home for much less than it would cost them to attend an out-oftown college or university. “Lyon College has a rich tradition of serving Independence County and our region for the past 150 years.

Revelation

Retired school teacher Dr. Diana Haselman will be presenting her next history and geography class, “Revelation,” beginning on Thursday, April 6. It will continue for six consecutive weeks from 1 to 2 p.m. each Thursday at the Cherokee Village First Baptist Church. The class if free and open to all adults.

Storm Watcher lecture at Ozarka College

The Ash Flat Fire Department will host a storm watching seminar on Tuesday, March 28 at 6 p.m. in the lecture hall at Ozarka College. A meterologist from the National Weather Service in Little Rock will give about a two hour presentation on what signs to look for when a storm may be approaching.
