May 2, 1943 - March 30, 2023 Robert Orville Smith Jr., age 79 of Alvin, Texas passed away Thursday, March 30, 2023 at his home. Robert was born May 2, 1943 in Mammoth Spring, Arkansas and was a 57 year resident of Alvin.

Izard Co. Democratic Party
MELBOURNE—The next meeting of the Izard County Democratic Party is scheduled for Tuesday, April 18, at 6 p.m. Special guest speaker for this month's meeting is Will Watson, Director of Strategy for the Arkansas State Democratic Party. Topics of discussion include the impact of the new LEARNS education law on our local schools and other recent developments from this year's legislative session. Members and guests are encouraged to attend and hear Mr. Watson's presentation.
Spring Junior Livestock Show
The Fulton County Fair will host a Spring Junior Livestock Show on May 13 at the Fulton County Fairgrounds in Salem, Arkansas. This show is open to any junior exhibitor. Checkin is from 8 to 9 a.m. and the first show starts at 10 a.m.
Izard Co. Senior Center
The Izard County Senior Center partners with the food bank to provide senior commodity boxes. We will be having a sign-up event to add people to the program on April 13 from 9 a.m.
