North Arkansas Senior Showcase Rosters announced

Izard County High School will host the 10th Annual North Arkansas Senior Showcase on April 15 at the Cougar Den in Brockwell to honor the outstanding graduating high school senior basketball players in the North Arkansas area. The high school boys’ and girls’ games will be broadcast on KSAR 92.3 FM by the “Ole Coach” Gary Cooper and Bob Harpole. KSAR and Skeeter Kell Athletics are the sponsors of the event. The players selected are the best high school graduating seniors from schools in north Arkansas. There will also be the finals of the dunk contest, a three-point shooting contest, and an obstacle course contest between games by the players. The preliminary contests will be held before the games. The girl’s game will begin at 5 p.m. and the boy’s game will be at 7 p.m. KSAR will broadcast the event and player interviews will be broadcast before the games. Admission is $6 per person. Also, Senior Showcase programs with team rosters, player ads, and Showcaser game records will be available for $5 each at the games. The Coaches for the Showcase are: Boys – Cody Edgar of 2A Regional Runnerup Cedar Ridge and Jason Qualls of Melbourne; Girls – Josh Bateman of 3A State Champion Salem and Scott Small of 1A State Champion Mammoth Spring. Boys—Jaron Burrow of 3A State Champion Manila; Riley Whiteaker and Blake Moody of Calico Rock; Jaxon Sanders of Melbourne; Dylan Munroe and Sean Parkinson of Highland; Reece Hipp of Rosebud; Dalton Steward of Salem; Harper Rorex, Braden Cox, and Cade Grisham of 2A-2 Conference Champions Sloan Hendrix; Hunter McKinney and Jerrit Pectol of Cedar Ridge; Beck Morrow, Samuel Fletcher, and Camryn Vickers of 3A-2 Conference Champions Mountain View; Cayden Burgess of Pangburn; Tyler Hill, Ashton Grisham, and Garrett Roberts of Izard County: Brayden Morgan of Rural Special; Tanner Durham of Hillcrest; Quentin Sewell of Lead Hill; and Alexander Gillam of White County Central. Message from the Calico Rock Community Foundation

The Calico Rock Community Foundation, the City of Calico Rock, and Izard County partner to promote our local economy by supporting small businesses. Every business licensed to operate by the City of Calico Rock is regularly promoted and listed on the website ExploreCalico. com, which is operated by the Foundation. In addition to this and other services provided to all of the businesses in the community, the Foundation is a member of the Arkansas Main Street Network. The Network has designated the Main Street Historic District as part of the statewide program. Main Street Calico Rock offers small businesses in the historic downtown district special services with the state, eligibility for grants, and promotions. Several small businesses have received free consultation services from state experts on improving their entries, signage, and accessibility. Many have received grants for new signs, improvements to their businesses, and special support during the pandemic. The Foundation also operates a special Facebook page for Main Street Calico Rock. This page is used to promote the historic district, historic district businesses, special community events, business profiles, and so much more. For over a decade, the Calico Rock Community Foundation has invested in our local community, with particular focus on the Main Street Historic District because it is the welcoming front door to our community.
